Bare Escentuals bareMinerals swatches

I was in need of dark rich colors and I found exactly what I wanted in Bare Escentuals bareMinerals. I purchased three colors which are great as either a shadow or a liner.

Tortoise - darkest brown, almost black with gold shimmer
Sex Kitten - shimmery bronze
Soul Sister - deep burgundy purple

All three are incredibly smooth going on and have been fantastic to create a smokey eye!

Lit Cosmetics collection, swatches and review

This is an awesome Canadian company from my home sweet home; Calgary Alberta. They specialize in glitter and they have amazing colors (tons of them!) and the best adhesive out there.

I started by buying a couple colors a number of years ago and that turned into a full blown addiction... I love glitter, what can I say?

Hopefully this post can help others who are interested in purchasing some Lit but want a swatch to really see what the color looks like because I know the website can be a little difficult to tell from their pictures.

Lit sells their glitter in 4 cut sizes (4 being the largest) and 4 finishes (solid, shimmer, metallic and electric)  Most of the colors I have are size 2. I have a few size 3 solid colors but most of my size 3 are shimmers. All electrics (neons) are size 1 I believe. I don't own any metallics.

Here is my whole collection. I have the blacklight sensitive colors off to the left.

The blacklight sensitive colors are so much fun to play when going to parties or clubs!
Swatch time!

Army brat, mary jane, plush, cayman, madonna, nirvana, twisted sistah, punk, and roxy rolla.
Strawberry angel, vixen, carrot head, liberache, champagne wishes, rich and famous, heavy metal, beach baby and hot chocolate.
Hot chocolate, cowgirl, hoochie mama, I feel love, gun smoke, Marilin Monroe, Miami vice, pink flamingo, dreamsicle, sugarfree, superstar and purple rain.
Magic dragon, go golf, seeing stars. This picture didn't really capture it but magic dragon is an awesome green over black eyeliner whereas seeing stars is lots of blues and purples.
Priss, pretty hot pink, solar blast, green machine, lemon tart, London calling, no doubt, beyond pink, kabang, reboot and kaboom.
I somehow missed swatching Gal friday. Its a slightly darker purple than twisted sister.
Here is my boyfriend and I from last Halloween. I wore magic dragon and
green machine (which glows under blacklight!) that night. The glitter didn't budge all night. I think I still had it on when I woke up the next day. lol! We had a lot of fun.

Hope you enjoy the pictures! If there is a color you want a better look at please let me know!

Sugar Pill review and swatches

Hola my fine people,

I know a lot of people have done reviews of this company and their products, but I've decided that I'm going just add to the general consensus that this company rocks.

Their colors are fantastic, bright and vibrant with a great color payoff. So far I've received two packages from them, their delivery was expedient (I got both packages in Canada within 2 weeks after ordering), the packaging is beautiful and there's a personalized thank you on the delivery slip. In the first package I also received a free sticker and business/photo card. I didn't get either in the second package but I wasn't really that disappointed, I got what I ordered and that's what matters!

so.... what did buy?

My first purchase included the burning heart palette (contains buttercupcake, flamepoint, love +, poison plum pressed eyeshadow), bulletproof pressed eyeshadow, asylum chromalust, lumi chromalust and starling chromalust.

Buttercupcake, Flamepoint, Love +, Poison plum, Starling, Asylum and Lumi over Urban Decay's primer potion.

This picture picks up the shimmer a little more
I forgot bulletproof in these pictures so I've included it in the next.

My second purchase included the sweet heart palette, darling chomalust, goldilux chromalust, decora chromalust, hysteric chromalust, paperdoll chromalust, birthday girl chromalust, junebug chromalust, and royal sugar chromalust.

Swatches of the sweet heart palette: tako - white, dollipop - pink, midori - green, afterparty - blue plus bulletproof - black

From left to right: junebug, darling, royal sugar, hysteric, paperdoll, birthday girl, decora and goldilux.

Everything that I've heard about the quality of the makeup has been true. The colors are quite blendable, soft to the touch and a little pigment goes a long way! So far may favorite colors would be goldilux, junebug and asylum. I'm very happy with my purchase and look forward to getting the rest of the colors available!!

Lise Watier folie loose pigments review

I'm going to start my product reviews with this company because it was my first foray into really collecting and playing with makeup, plus it is also a Canadian company and I like to support my fellow Canadians.

Many years ago my Mom popped a few little goodies into my stocking at Christmas and it was an awesome surprise. I had a few items of makeup at the time but I was fairly young and rarely put on makeup. After receiving the Christmas gift I quickly became interested in what else the company made.

The color I got was folie d'eau as well as a white gold lip gloss (named or etoile) and purple mascara (which has since been thrown out because it was old). Since then I have purchased five more colors folie d'amour, folie orange, folie pomme, folie aqua and folie violette. I have swatched the colors accordingly. The top line using the Lise Watier metamorfix liquid transformer and bottom line over Urban Decay's eden primer potion.

Folie d'eau: beautiful peacock blue/green
Folie d'amour: rosy pink
Folie orange: tangerine orange
Folie pomme: apple green/gold
Folie aqua: light turquoise with purple glitter
Folie violette: lovely purple
The liquid transformer really intensifies the colors and is great to use for a liner. I can't remember how much it costs, but I do remember that it was a little pricey. You could probably just use water to get the same effect although I'm not sure what the staying power would be.

The colors are all beautiful and vibrant but are fairly expensive ($18 for a 2g pot) so I have only treated myself once in a while with a purchase from their company.

Hope you enjoyed the review!
