Hey sorry I haven't really been able to get to a computer until now. Everything is awesome! At the moment I'm in Shanghai. We are staying at a nice hotel but we have to trek a little to find internet and it seems that I can only access my blog and post, I can't view replys or access hotmail to e-mail. And it's really hard to understand what's going on cause the majority of the computer is in Chinese.
So far we've had a good time, we arived in Shanghai on monday morning at 11 (The time here....it would have been sunday night for you guys) We got settled into our hotel and were told to go do whatever we wanted, so Camille and I got everything set up in our room and then went a-wandering. A girl name Judy came with us, our first mission was to get something to eat so we went to a noodle house on Nanjing Rd., this road is crazy it's a strictly pedestrian road and they have all kinds of shops on it and it's lit up like las vegas. We basically spent the rest of our night wandering along the road and looking in the shops but then the jet lag really caught up to us so we went back to the hotel and passed out. Next day we got up and went down to breakfast, which consisted of some unknown kinds of bread type things....some filled with goo, fried noodles and eggs then we had a short meeting in Arron's room and were told about the history about Shanghai, then told to go out and learn. We went in a fairly large group and decided to go check out this "sight seeing tunnel" under the river. It was a crazy futuristic "space" tunnel....equiped with lights and sounds....I don't really know how else to describe it. Then we walked passed the pearl tower and visited the aquarium, which was awsome. We got to see sharks, turtles and jellyfish. then we juped into a cap and drove to the other side of the city and went to this beatuiful buddhist temple. I have pictures of the temples, they're amazing, they have giant statues of buddha and other kings and gods all in gold. After we wandered a bit more saw some markets....then had the experience of taking the metro home and trying to figure out how to read where we were going. Good times. Then we went back to the hotel and I fell asleep, Camille and a couple other kids went out for dinner then went out to the bar...and I had wished that I hadn't passed out, I probably needed the sleep tho. So today We;re going to go work on our field notebooks and possibly go look at some mosques. All the people on the trip are awsome so far, still getting a little messed up with names but I've pretty much got them all now. Hope everything is going great at home, i'll try and get back on here soon, and hopefully be able to read what other people are saying and check my e-mail.
LOVE YA!
Kelsey

Hey Baby,
So great to get your notes. Miss you already. I am having fun at my new house. You will love it. Went for a hike today with my next-door neighbour. She's really nice. I'm here by myself except for David's dog. I just wish she wasn't so old so she could come exploring with me. Coming back to Calgary next weekend to pick-up a few things and go to the awared lunch at Mount Royal College. Keep the updates coming.
Love Mom
Hey Kelsey. Your mom gave me this blogsite address so I decided to look you up. It sounds like you're having wonderful time. I'm still in the north but will be going home in about a month. Take care. Uncle Jim
